In Phase 2 local sites will work to understand the training requirements of staff who are implementing the changes across the system and ensue that there are feedback mechanisms in place so it’s possible to know the impact of the changes being made and whether to make any adjustments.
In addition, sites will begin to understand the gaps in capacity for delivery within the existing clinical workforce.
There will be a phase of building capacity and competency within the staff groups who will be working with young people, including introducing them to ‘THRIVE-like working’. There is also the opportunity to think about building and further developing the leadership within a THRIVE-like system.
The i-THRIVE Academy
The i-THRIVE Academy supports sites to develop their system wide workforce so that staff have the right skills to deliver care aligned to the principles of the THRIVE Framework. There are five modules: Getting Advice and Signposting, Building Confidence in letting go and managing difficult endings, Risk Support and Using the i-THRIVE Grids to improve shared decision making, and The THRIVE Framework: Leading system wide transformation.

Two workforce surveys have been developed for use to build up a picture of the capacity and capability to meet the needs of children and young people in schools and in the wider children’s workforce.
